Recently, while browsing through Pinterest, such examples are again popping up now and then in stream, and I am amazed at the way some teachers are introducing children to the fantastic world of arts.

Last night, while toying with MS-Paint after a really long time, I found out that the simple free drawing tool of yesteryears have really grown up, and now boasts of quite a few different types of paintbrush options. Obviously I had to try them all, and after scrubbing around here and there a lot with my left mouse button, I decided to do something the kids at art schools in the west ( and maybe also in some schools in India ) are doing: copy a MASTER !!

So here I am, with my first ever copy ( that too, a digital copy ) of a Classic Master - French Impressionist Claude Monet; I have tried to copy one of Monet's frames from the series Water Lilies .

As anyone can see, this is not even a perfect copy. I am a bad copier. But I loved doing it, because in the process, I once again understood and tried to register within myself quite a few things about the use of colours and brush strokes. I am happy that I tried it.

( Statutory disclaimer: I am niether in art academics, nor a teacher/ connoisseur/ artist/curator. I simply love reading, knowing and sharing about all the good things around. )
