I managed to see quite a few films in the last two months- a couple of them quite olf, but never seen before, and a few new ones. Let's summarise them one by one.Bachna Ai HaseenoCast: Ranbir Kapoor, Minissha Lamba, Bipasha Basu, Deepika PadukoneLots of babes, skins, exotic locations and unnecessary punjabi songs. The film could have done away with atleast three of the songs. But the director was perhaps under pressure from the producer to allott atleast two songs to each of the heroines. So, in the film, one song started even before the other could leave any impression. The hero is a playboy at the beginning of the film, but ends up realizing that like all good Indian heroes, he must also end up getting married. He is allowed the lease of free sex, but to step into the sacred institution of marriage, he had to go and get the forgiveness of the two girls he played around with.
TASHANCast: Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Karreina KapoorWhy did they make this film? Don't ask me. I did not make it!! Surely something has happened inside Yashraj film, something unpredictable, something unimaginable, that has made them decide to make such a film. Absurd, hollow and garish. Even Karreina's zero size [ which actually makes her look quite ugly] could not help it.
KISMET CONNECTIONCast: Shahid Kapoor, Vidya BalanPoor delivery from the camp of someone I respect so much - Aziz Mirza. Weak story, weaker screenplay; there was no need to set the story in Canada or wherever out of India just for the sake of some foreign locations, the whole thing could have fitted well in Mumbai. The songs were not impressive too.RACECast: Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Sameera ReddyOnce again a robust thriller from director duo Abbas-Mastan !! They have proved them once again. Stylish, sleek, sexy, Race will make you sit straight all the way, trying to speculate what could happen next. At times a bit predictive, the story is gripping enough. The actor to watch out for is Saif Ali Khan - he will make you forget his chocolate boy days.Apart from these, I watched two Hollywood Classic romantic comedy - Breakfast at Tiffany's and Come September. I liked the latter more. It is a lovable movie.
